Travelling in France
How do I travel within France?
The SNCF Group allows people fleeing Ukraine to travel free of charge on its trains in France and to European border destinations. When you arrive at the station, you must go to a ticket office.
Here are the documents that will allow you to obtain a free train ticket:
- a passport or identity card issued by Ukraine;
- a HELP Ukraine ticket from Deutsche Bahn;
- a valid Ukrainian residence permit for non-Ukrainians fleeing the conflict, a Ukrainian card for a foreigner residing in Ukraine.
At stations where the French Red Cross is present, volunteers will help you to get your tickets for your next destination.
The SNCF website is in Ukrainian, English, French and Russian.
In Paris, RATP buses are specifically chartered between certain stations. For more information, please contact the Red Cross team on site.
